About Us

Everyone's Garden is a project of The Neighborhood Garden Coalition (NGC), a a501(c)3 non profit community organization. The NGC was established in 2010 to advance local community revitalization efforts through the development of neighborhood gardens. Throughout the country, the urban agriculture movement has been helpful in promoting civic engagement, environmental stewardship, healthy eating habits, and entrepreneurship. The coalition’s first garden project, the Grant Park Community Garden, was established in Royal Oak Township, MI. The NGC partnered with the local community to identify suitable land to be transformed into an urban garden, recruit program participants, and achieve ongoing sustainability. Private funding, grants, donations and lots of sweat equity were received to support the project.

The NGC intends to make its community garden programs inclusive and accessible. In order to achieve this goal, the NGC needs to make sure the physical site is accessible, proper materials and tools are available, and appropriate training is being provided. The NGC intends to partner with key organizations such as the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition, JARC, the Judson Center, Berkley High School, and others to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the people we serve.
